Conversely, a less pure preparation may retain high activity if the impurities are inactive. Clear reporting separates these attributes and states the assay used for each.
Peptide purity specifications describe which tests define an acceptable lot and how results are reported. A certificate of analysis commonly lists a reverse-phase HPLC purity value, a mass spectrometry identity result, water content, counterion content, and residual solvent data. The specification may set a minimum area percent, such as 95% or 98%, depending on the intended use and grade. No universal threshold applies to all peptides, because sequence length, hydrophobicity, and manufacturing route influence achievable purity.

=== Pseudomonas syringae pv. tomato strain DC3000 and Arabidopsis thaliana === As mentioned above, the genome of P. syringae pv. tomato DC3000 has been sequenced, and approximately 40 Hop (Hrp Outer Protein) effectors - pathogenic proteins that attenuate the host cell - have been identified. These 40 effectors are not recognized by A. thaliana thus making P. syringae pv. tomato DC3000 virulent against it - that is, P. syringae pv. tomato DC3000 is able to infect A. thaliana - thus A. thaliana is susceptible to this pathogen. Many gene-for-gene relationships have been identified using the two model organisms, P. syringae pv. tomato strain DC3000 and Arabidopsis. The gene-for-gene relationship describes the recognition of pathogenic avirulence (avr) genes by host resistance genes (R-genes). P. syringae pv. tomato DC3000 is a useful tool for studying avr: R-gene interactions in A. thaliana because it can be transformed with avr genes from other bacterial pathogens, and furthermore, because none of the endogenous hops genes is recognized by A. thaliana, any observed avr recognition identified using this model can be attributed to recognition of the introduced avr by A. thaliana. The transformation of P. syringae pv. tomato DC3000 with effectors from other pathogens have led to the identification of many R-genes in Arabidopsis to further advance knowledge of plant pathogen interactions.

==== Andrea Cozzolino ==== Andrea Cozzolino's legal immunity was also removed by the European Parliament on 2 February 2023, when Andrea Cozzolino was in Italy. Cozzolino was arrested on 10 February 2023, after leaving a hospital in Naples where he was being treated for heart problems; he was taken to Poggioreale prison, but later allowed to go home under house-arrest. Cozzolino's lawyer Dimitri De Béco issued a statement that Cozzolino opposed being extradited to Belgium, because of the Belgian justice "way of proceeding". Cozzolino has repeatedly denied any wrong-doing. On 14 February, a Naples court granted a request from Cozzolino's lawyers to postpone the extradition hearing to 28 February so that the court could check the prison in Belgium that Cozzolino would be put in if extradited. In June he flew to Brussels and was placed by a Judge on parole, with conditions attached.

=== Quigley Company asbestos settlement (2013) === The Quigley Company, which sold asbestos-containing insulation products until the early 1970s, was acquired by Pfizer in 1968. In June 2013, asbestos victims and Pfizer negotiated a settlement that required Pfizer to pay a total of $964 million: $430 million to 80% of existing plaintiffs and place an additional $535 million into a settlement trust that will compensate future plaintiffs as well as the remaining 20% of plaintiffs with claims against Pfizer and Quigley. Of that $535 million, $405 million is in a 40-year note from Pfizer, while $100 million is from insurance policies.
== Contraindications == Lurasidone is contraindicated in individuals who are taking strong inhibitors of the liver enzyme CYP3A4 (ketoconazole, clarithromycin, ritonavir, levodropropizine, etc.) or inducers (carbamazepine, St. John's wort, phenytoin, rifampicin etc.). The use of lurasidone in pregnant women has not been studied and is not recommended; in animal studies, no risks have been found. Excretion in breast milk is also unknown; lurasidone is not recommended for breastfeeding women. The enzyme CYP3A4 is involved in the digestion of drugs. Inhibitors such as grapefruit juice block its function, resulting in too much drug in the body.

Since the beginning of the conflict, the military's role in civilian law enforcement has been a subject of controversy. Article 129 of the Mexican Constitution states that, in times of peace, the armed forces can only perform functions that are strictly connected to military discipline. Calderón justified their deployment under his constitutional role as commander-in-chief of the Mexican Armed Forces (Article 89, Section VI), but this interpretation has been criticized for circumventing constitutional limits on military authority. Efforts to formalize this role, such as Peña Nieto's 2017 Internal Security Law, and López Obrador's 2022 transfer of the National Guard to SEDENA, were struck down by the Supreme Court, though in practice the deployments have continued under executive decrees, and in the case of López Obrador, constitutional amendments. Concentration of power in the executive branch, along with corruption in the legislature and judiciary, has been linked to the deterioration of Mexico's human rights situation. The medullary collecting duct is the main site of ANP regulation of sodium excretion. ANP effects sodium channels at both the apical and basolateral sides. ANP inhibits ENaC on the apical side and the sodium potassium ATPase pump on the basolateral side in a cGMP PKG dependent manner resulting in less sodium re-absorption and more sodium excretion. ANP increases glomerular filtration rate and glomerular permeability. ANP directly dilates the afferent arteriole and counteracts the norepinephrine induced vasoconstriction of the afferent arteriole. Some studies suggest that ANP also constricts the efferent arteriole, but this is not a unanimous finding. ANP inhibits the effect of Angiotensin II on the mesangial cells, thereby relaxing them. ANP increases the radius and number of glomerular pores, thereby increasing glomerular permeability and resulting in greater filter load of sodium and water.
